Almost over...

So 2008 is almost over...

Today I did lot's of running around to make sure 08 ends smoothly. Then it's off to celebrate the new year!

Lot's can be said about 2008. And I'm sure you'll hear plenty about it. Presumably when I'm going to be in Japan. There will be a couple of days I will have all to myself with a lot of time, so I'll type some stuff up then!

Yes it's true I'm going back to Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH, and I'm exited. You can find the dates on my main Myspace. The calendar is up to date so if you are interested in Wrestling and live near a town I'm going to be in, stop by!

I would like to thank everybody that wished me happy birthday. Despite a loss it was a good one!
Also big thanks to everybody who sent me a gift from my wish list! I really appreciate it! Pictures will follow soon!

I'm watching Elf right now, and anybody who hasn't seen the movie should watch it when it's on Chrismas day! There's a marathon on the USA channel. Or is it the channel USA? or the USA network? Well... you know what I mean!

Bad Santa is also a funny movie! Even though I had to see it without the cuss words. Which seems to be half the fun.

While i was in New York I also had a chance to watch the Wrestler. Everybody who's a wrestling fan, and even if you're not and just like good movies. Go see it! It's a really good movie. And yes, you're able to see yours truly for about 1 second. The song by Bruce Springsteen at the end is also quiet incredible.

Big shout outs to everybody who made their own Christmas cookies! Yes, I did too. I'm actually a pretty good cook. Hmm, maybe one day there will be a Swiss specialty restaurant somewhere in the USA!

Fondue! Big props to Fondue. A great meal for the holiday season!

I would like to end this with my joke for this season:

Why didn't Rudolph have to defend his Championship belt at Christmas?

He had a Santa Clause!

Vergiss auch ein’ Tag den harten Job...

Sing für sie, Karel Gott!

Ver****t!!

So! Mein Blog wurde nicht gelöscht! Ha! Wenn ich mich die Tage noch danach fühle schreibe ich mal noch etwas mehr auf Deutsch! Ich weiss ja auch nicht wie viele Deutschsprachige das hier lesen.

In dem Sinne bis bald!
Claudio

The soup...

Yes I just watched "The Soup" on E! But I also just had a bowl of soup. Cheese broccoli soup mixed with ham and a potato = great food for December.

Speaking of "The Soup", who saw it? I forgot the exact quote but it was something along the lines of the Ghosthunters are "taunting air". Best line EVER!

Now as I said last time, I wanna go a little bit more into detail why December is such a great month.

Well first of all it's my Birthday month. And that can only be good!

Second there is Christmas. Every kid likes Christmas. A white Christmas! Christmas without snow is like Easter without Eggs, like Sigfried without Roy, it's like Hassel without the hoff! You get where I'm going with this.

So yes, it always makes me sad when there's no snow at Christmas. I love snow! Snow makes everything prettier. The trees look so happy with their little white blanket, so does the grass.

Also when you walk through the snow, it makes a little crunchy sound that I love. It's just fun to walk through the snow!
You can build a snowman! Or you can have a snowball fight! If you're not into that you can also try to build an igloo!

I did all that when i was a kid, and I still do! Well except building an igloo, that's a little too big.

I used to go to school early, just to throw snowballs at kids who came later! To be in huge snowball wars and then be soaking wet all through school, sick the next day, but still going because there was another round of snowball fighting was going on.

Back then I developed my favorite technique. It's not throwing a snowball directly at somebody. It's throwing a snowball at somebody that walks, let's say, underneath a tree. That person will think you missed, and maybe even laugh at you. Just to realize a couple of seconds later that you didn't miss and all the snow from the tree is falling on top of them! It's like domino!

The attack of just running up to somebody pull their jacket & sweatshirt back and throw a bunch of snow down their back is one of the more cavemanish attacks. It doesn't involve a lot of skill, just strenght and maybe a little quickness. Never the less a powerful attack!

So is a well thrown snowball to the mush or the part where it hurts especially. You know. Both is kinda dangerous because a master snowball maker can make really hard snowballs. And you don't really wanna hurt somebody seriously. Just for a little bit. So a good throw into the kidney is fun as well.

Now see I just have fun with snow. And no I'm not afraid of the cold. I'm from Switzerland, I love the cold! You just have to dress appropriately. When me and Ares used to be on the road, we would roll the window down in the winter because it was too hot in the car!

Ok, that's not entirely true, and he will agree with me. Just a certain somebody always had to have the window open and made everybody else freeze their noses off. Let's call him S. the S. Tank.

Also Snow is nice to look at. If it's snowing outside and you're sitting inside your home with the heat on and something warm to drink (Ovomaltine!!! Hesch dini ovi scho gha?) (That's hot chocolate for you guys) I can just sit in front of the window, it's really a good time.

When it's snowing I'm happy, that's just how it is. Now I think I plugged snow a whole lot!
People also drive rediculous in the snow, but I don't wanna go on a rant. I've been good so far.

Also in December I had my first Wrestling match! December 24th 2000! I'm the Christmas gift to Pro-Wrestling so to speak! Another reason to celebrate.

Around Christmas is also usually the time when people look back and reminisce about the year past. I will do that in detail later this week, or at the beginning of next week. Actually I don't wanna make any promises, but I will do it eventually.

It's been an overall good year though. I haven't been hurt seriously *knock on wood* and I'm still living in the US. Which is a good thing because if I wouldn't live here it would be because I failed at wrestling.

Speaking of wrestling. A friend told me the other day that it's not a good time to be a wrestler right now. Why, you might ask? Well first of all a couple of years back when WCW aas still around, most of the ROH guys would work for them and make a 6 figure income.
Now there's only WWE, TNA and ROH. I hope TNA will grow, and I hope ROH will grow. Because there needs to be competition. More places to work.

NOAH just got their TV Deal cancelled. It's around the globe. But I'm staying optimistic. A good friend told me once "cream rises to the top". And I am cream! No jokes here! Nobody quote the Prince song on me now!

If you're a wrestlingfan, give yourself a Christmas present and go watch the ROH shows! Philly and New York!

Now somehow I always get off topic. It's my speciality. What do I like about Christmas? Being with family, good food, I like the Christmas tree and candles and cookies.
Also there are lots of sales going on after Christmas! So I bet everybody likes that!

So everybody enjoy the last weekend before Christmas, get your shopping done, stay warm, enjoy the snow and enjoy the Christmas decorations. Well the nice and moderate ones. Not the crazy "I'm better than me neighbor because I have more lights in my garden" ones! Uh, that's another thing to talk about another time.

What a weekend!

So, finally I am back home!

This was quite the traveling weekend for me! And some people actually didn't believe me. Ha! Castagnoli international! Or Claudio International... What sounds better? Yes that was a question to you, dear reader.

So Thursday I flew from JFK International airport to Amsterdam. I though my flight was at 7pm, but it ended up being at 4.30. That kinda changed the day for me as I ended up having 3 hours less. So no tanning it was.
Still tanned, but not optimum tanned, I made my way to the Netherlands. On the flight I watched "Get Smart". Fun movie! From there I took my connection to Germany.

While I enjoyed checking out the advanced European cell phones at 6am at the Amsterdam airport I also took time for a nap. The great thing is that they had those sun chair like chairs that are super comfortable and you can basically lay in them.

Anyhow, I ended up spending the rest of Friday watching "Hostage" with Bruce Willis, which is a really good movie! I didn't think it would be any good, but I ended up liking it and it had some good twists.
Later that night I met up with some friends and had a great time catching up on stuff, especially funny European Indy Wrestlers. Marc Hammer, Thomas Blade I'm talking to you! I heard the former is a professional World of Warcraft player now days, so good for him!

While my friends decided to go see "Der Wendler" I decided I finally need some sleep. After a full night of sleep I enjoyed the great breakfast buffet, which I almost missed.

After catching up with some of my Swiss friends it was time for the afternoon show. Unfortunately I lost to Bad Bones and he's the new wXw Champion. But Steve Douglas got him after the match for me, so props to him for that!

Since that was the main event I just had enough time to shower, change and get over to the GSW show that was happening tonight. I was also happening that night as I kicked everybodys butt in the 4 way I was involved in. Unfortunately before mentioned Steve Douglas stole the victory, so I take my props back. No props for you!

After the "Obermacker" defended his GSW Title it was time for me to find my way back to the Amsterdam airport.
Because the USA is so strict with their security I had to go through another security check, inclusive baggage scan at the gate!
After I found out that I had a whole row of seats to myself I didn't mind the extra security anymore though and fell asleep.

Just in time I woke up to experience the landing in New York, where I was picked up and chauffeured to the CHIKARA show in Philadelphia! All that just to be betrayed by Larry Sweeney...

Some fans actually though it was an error that Mr. Meltzer had me listed on a show in Germany the day before. But no, Mr. Meltzer was right! I indeed was!
That's how I roll!

Now I'm kind of tired and ready for bed! I put some of my travel pictures up here, so just scroll down.

Also there will be a upcoming blog about why December is my favorite Month (My Birthday, Christmas, Snow and my first match) at a later point, but for now, check this out:

It's been a while!

Who doesn't like Nickelback!? For those who do, enjoy the subject of this Blog!

For those who don't, look at this photograph!

Now to something more serious. More things I like!

I like the Gym! Yes, as you might have guessed, I like the gym. I also go there quiet frequently. I like space at the gym, and a clean gym too. Also I use some heavy weights some times, but I make sure I always re-rack! So if you're one of those dudes, who load a lot of plates to the bar, and then think it's ok to leave them on there, it's NOT! Re-rack!
And it gets even worse. If you're working for the gym, it's even more reason to re-rack! You're supposed to be a role model and know how to conduct yourself in the gym! I already hate 3 personal trainers at my gym because they don't re-rack the weights! It's annoying! Even if you just put them on the floor and lean them against the machine, that's ok. Just don't leave them on the bar!
Same goes for dumbbells. Put them where you picked them up.

I still love the gym and I think it's a great place to be.

I like December! Yes, that's right, December is the greatest month of the year! No, not just because it's my birthday, but also because it's Christmas, it has snow, and you can sit inside in the warm while see the cold weather outside! If you're too cold when you go outside, dress appropriate! I recommend some Swiss winter clothes. Also wear a scarf. It doesn't have to be leopardskin like mine.

I like Snow! You can build a snowman, you can ski, snowboard, have a snowball fight with it and it just looks pretty!

I like soup! Some people out there don't like soup and don't consider it real food. Well my friends, you don't know what you're talking about! Cream of broccoli with potato and ham = amazing food! Especially now in the winter when it's snowing and cold outside!

That's it for today!
