Japan Diary Days 9, 10 and 11

Riiiicoooola! No it's not just the name of my move, the best cough drop out there, it's also what I'm eating right now! Well not really eating, but you know what I mean. Also my great tag team partner Mr. Hero bought me a jar of Ricola (with awesome Japanese packaging of course) because he broke my jump rope (which wasn't his fault but he felt bad anyway). Big ups to him from here!

Did you notice that the Myspace traffic has become less? Well I did and I think it has to do with the economy. People are just not spending as much time online as they used to.

Now, back to Japan where I'm currently am. As some of you might have noticed this post will be about 3 days, instead of the usual two. And as complicated as this may sound it's actually quite easy to follow. We had two days of shows!

So I spend Tuesday morning going to the dojo and working out, nothing new here. I know some people post their workout but I don't. Well I was actually contemplating about doing it because I have the occasional one or two people who ask me what I do at the gym. But then i saw how a certain guy I'm in Japan with works out and mine just pales in comparison. So this will remain a mystery!

Lunch was had at Saizeriya (it's spelled correctly this time) and I enjoyed my usual hamburger steak with rice and a salad. The good thing about lunch there is that the lunch special is only 20 cents more expensive and it includes the drink bar. Which for me is lots of coffee! Hot black coffee!

Then I spend some time in my hotel room trying to come up with cool ways to kill time like watching a certain TV series that I already plug enough. I also enjoy crackers with tuna! Original Crackers it says on the box and there's a wheat on it, so it has to be healthy!
Bobby Fish argued the point that a banana split is OK to eat because it has banana in it so it has to be healthy. He's right.

The show was only half an hour away and I can't wait to upload the pictures I took. I should have brought the plug to connect my phone to my laptop but I didn't. The city we were at, Yokohoma has the cooles building ever! It looks like the tower from Isengard! You know from Lord of the Rings! It was sooo awesome. Unfortunately Hero has not seen Lord of the Rings and the others didn't share my enthusiasm. The story of my life...

Anywho I enjoyed myself trying to speak like Saruman when he's standing on top of it spelling curses.

What's a witch's favorite subject at school by the way? You're right, it's spelling.

That night myself and Chris Hero took on Jun Akiyama and Takeshi Rikioh. As a former world class Sumo Rikioh packs one hell of a slap, let me tell you. Even when he's dizzy from a Giand Swing! Thanks to the Muso I lost the match.

Even though the show was close we missed last call at all the restaurants in our Hotel's vicinity and we all agree that the McDonalds would make a killing if it would be open a little bit later than 9 pm!

So spaghetti carbonara and chicken it was.

The next day started the same as usual with a work out at the dojo. Pull ups are great by the way. Lunch was again at Saizeriya.

Actually, would you be so kind and just re-read the paragraphs above? Because those two days were basically identical!
Except the wrestling of course!

That night we wrestled Akira Taue and Shuhei Taniguchi! After I spun Taniguchi for about a minute Hero was able to pin him! Actually the win didn't have anything to do with the swing (unfortunately) but I just wanted to plug it. Also never try to tackle Taue.

Now if you would read the after show part from above again that would be appreciated.

Now today, today was completly different! Ha! I got you! Guess what? Yes, I woke up, went to the dojo, worked out, but then.... I had all you can eat lunch buffet again!
And again we sat there till they kicked us out! I also had 5 cups of coffee, and lots of roast beef. Well maybe not as much as the other day but still a respectable ammount.

Then I had to do some laundry. I lost a dollar, but ended up finding two! Woohoo, I'm up one dollar! The stupid washing machine destroyed one of me knee pads! It had a cut from the top to the bottom like somebody took a knife to it! What th hell! And it's one of my good kneepads too! I was pissed! I still am thinking about it!

For dinner we got taken out again. Another plug for Americans to pick up the whole "Sponsor" thing! And if you take us out for food we will also be nicer to you! Well that depends but just think of it as even having a chance.
I had great dumplings, when sweet and sour pork and noodle soup topped off with some rice! Amazing!

Now I'm back here trying to watch LOST! Yes it started yesterday in the US and I wanna see it!

Not much else comes to mind, except 2009 should be good! I have some cool plans!

Also if you know anybody who would want to sponsor me, let me know! Yes I wrestle all over the world and on PPV and I could have your product on my tights!

That's it for now, I'll see you again in two days! (or earlier, who knows!)

Having American sponsors is a neat idea, but echoing your previous posts, more Americans would have to be respectful. I think wrestlers are held in a much higher esteem in Japanese culture than in American culture. In Japan, the people feel it is an honor and a privilege to sponsor a wrestler, and I don't think Americans feel the same way, which is unfortunate. Please correct me if I'm wrong, as you've dealt with wrestling fans all around the world.

I see on the Ring of Honor website that your match in Chicago with Kevin Steen is confirmed. You'll have to teach "Mr. Wrestling" a lesson or two! I can't wait to see that!

It must be a thrill wrestling great Japanese wrestlers like Jun Akiyama and Akira Taue. Who are the wrestlers, past or present, that you would love the opportunity to wrestle? Doink the Clown, perhaps? (Just kidding!)

Remember when Christopher Walken said he needs more cowbell? Well I need more giant swing! Enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan, Claudio! Stay well!

Yes I love Papa Shango! He was awesome!

keith that's absolutely true. On the other hands you can't really compare the two countries and the whole fans thing. It's two completely different cultures. But it's nice to see that the wrestlers are regarded so well here.

There are many that I'd love to wrestle. But I keep myself pretty much to reality with that. I don't really think about that stuff. But being in the ring with Akyiama and co is exiting that's for sure!

Big swing is in full motion over here! I should put the Big Swing T-shirts back up for sale...

I don't have the means to be an American sponsor for you, but I can definitely support you by purchasing a big swing shirt! Let me know if you decide to put those on sale!

Let's see you try that with Kevin Steen!!
