Memorial Day Weekend

A weekend for the memories. I hope you had a good one too! Would you like to know how mine went? Well then just keep reading, because I will tell you and if you don’t you’re on the wrong site, but keep reading anyway!

Friday, the day weekends in my book begin, I joined up with some of my friends to enjoy a wrestling free Friday evening in the city of Philadelphia. Minigolf was on the agenda, but unfortunately there were a bunch of amateurs blocking the first hole.

Well it was not just a bunch it was a whole pack! So after standing there and debating we decided to leave minigolf be for the kids, and do some grown up stuff.

So we went to the casino in Philadelphia. After loosing some money on the penny slots I found the machine I was looking for. Photo0311

That kind of slot brought me luck in Las Vegas about a year ago, and I won some money there. It was not that much, but it paid for my meals (and you know that’s something I care about).
The trick is you have to get into the bonus games. That’s easier said than done, but I was lucky and got into a good one about 1 minute in. So after racking up the credits and my people telling me I’m on a nickel machine and not on a penny machine I decided to cash out. I just wanted to see how much I’m up.

Soooo when I printed the voucher it said 87.56! Heeey! I won free meals again! For the whole week to come! Go me!

But I was not the only lucky one, Arik Cannon won as well, Photo0312so we decided to party up! You may know that Arik used to be a King of Wrestling too! So we know how to party up with some hats and one of those funny things that roll out… I don’t know the name but it can be found at all parties!

The smart thing to do was cash out. And that’s what I did. I watched my friends gamble and listened to the great band that was playing.

They were so good that I didn’t even realize that there was a band playing, I just thought it’s radio.
After everybody was all gambled out we retreated to a nearby restaurant to get some food and tell stories.

That’s what we do, we tell stories, talk about the good old times and how life used to be. I’m getting old! Well not that old, I’m still young but it’s a fun thing to do. Telling stories that is.

While we were talking the Cavaliers vs. Magic game was going on and we all witnessed LeBron’s tremendous buzzer beater. Have you seen it? If not, you’re missed one of the best things last weekend!

Saturday finally came around and I made my way to Easton for some CHIKARA Aniversario Yin action. On the way there I stopped at Starbucks for some coffee and took the probably greatest picture ever taken by me!

All of a sudden it started to pour rain like crazy! It was so crazy that people pulled over! Photo0316 But not me! I trucked through the bad weather because Swiss people are used to weather conditions like this. I even took a picture for you guys. Now that’s dedication (or craziness, you decide). It got so bad that I was driving 30 in the left lane and I zoomed by everybody, it made me feel like I was driving 100!

Like me there were a lot of people who made their way to Easton through the rain so that they could enjoy the great CHIKARA show.
They were also able to sing my entrance music together with me and watch me fall over the stairs again.

But first things first. After loosing I felt a little sad so I decided to ask our ring announcer Loudn’ to sing my entrance music with me. As it turns out he doesn’t know my entrance music! Or, according to his version of the story got it mixed up with a RUN DMC song, yeah right…

And who saved the situation? Yes, you the fans! I asked them to sing with me and hey, it worked! I was so exited and played conductor for them while walking backwards. Beeg mistake (like Arnie in “Last Action Hero”), as I tumbled and fell backwards over the ring steps. Thanks to my cat like agility I landed on my feet though… Ring steps don’t seem to be my friend!

For those of you who remember me falling over the ring steps in Cleveland and giving them European Uppercuts (now also famous thanks to Botchamania 74 about 50 seconds in) so it happened again. I European Uppercutted the stairs to the crowds amusement and everybody got a good laugh out of it. I hope I will be featured with this on another Botchamania.

Sunday was Aniversario Yang at TheArena.biz. Not many words have to be lost there, since I’m still bruised up I will let the match do the talking.

I had a chance to watch most of the show and I must say this was one heck of a show! If you were not there you should definitely get the DVD over at SmartMarkVideo.com (when it will be available). Just for the main event alone it was worth it. The electricity of the crows was crazy and they were on their feet. And for all of you who don’t like Icarus you can see him… Well I don’t wanna spoil the results, so you just watch and enjoy. I certainly did which was also in part to my steady flow of fresh water, thank you, you know who you are!

Let me plug water at this time. Water is probably the greatest beverage ever and should be consumed by everybody. Also water should be sold free to everybody. Well not sold because it should be free, given away would be the proper term.

Monday came! And normally I sit down here on Monday and write a nice recap of my weekend. Not this time because my weekend was not over.

Memorial Day extended my weekend and I started it with some shopping. Grocery shopping, the best shopping of all. So it got me some great food which I when proceeded to incorporate in some great meals. That’s what you do with food.

Before the morning was over I also went to the gym for a great workout. Morning is my new favorite part of the day. If you have a great morning, the rest of the day will be so much better.

And so it was because I got joined by some friends, or more, I joined some friends to enjoy dollar hot dog night at the Phillies ballpark!

We barely sat down and already got on the big screen! I know people want to get on that thing all the time, I have been to a baseball game three times and I’ve been on twice! Not a bad quote I’d say. A little after that, this happened:

Photo0326 The bell rang! For those of you who have never been to a Phillies game that means HOMERUN! Whooo! Go Phillies.

Unfortunately the Marlins started to score so that I decided to take a picture of the sunset and then of the stadium when it got dark. That’s when I discovered the great panorama function on my phone, so you’ll hopefully get lot’s more of those cool long pictures.

Even though the Phillies ended up loosing I had a great time and a tremendous weekend started to end… And so will this blog.

I hope you enjoyed reading and if you did, tell your friends! Because the more people read this, the more I get motivated to write even more. And I know that’s what you want.

And to make this goodbye a little sweeter, I say “Tschüss” with this great picture…
