Even though I just got back from an incredible concert, I’m going to write about my trip to Dorney Park first! The concert will be packed into my weekend report, since it basically is weekend already!
Ok, here we go! Monday I went to Dorney Park with a couple of friends. The great thing was that Dorney has this offer where you only pay 20$ after 5pm! Which is great because it’s not expensive and there are not a lot of people there, as you can clearly seen in the picture to your left!
This blog will be a little picture heavy I admit, but hey, I enjoy looking at pictures and I hope you do too!
I found a parking spot right in front of the entrance too which was awesome! Mainly because we didn’t have to walk far at all and most importantly it was easy to find the car at the end!
So right in we went and on our first roller coaster within 5 minutes!
Talon was the first coaster we rode and it was great! It’s a coaster where your legs hang and the track is over your head. Please forgive me if I don’t use the correct roller coaster lingo, I hope you still get what I’m trying to say.
Normally all those kind of coasters have the same layout I found. Not this one! It’s way higher than the other ones I rode, or I just don’t remember correctly. Anyhow this was a lot of fun and a great start!
That thing was the next we went on. I didn’t wanted to go on it because I’m not a big fan of rides like that. Anything that spins I don’t like. I got on a spinny one when I was a little kid and had a horrible experience and it haunted me ever since. Well I must admit that this one wasn’t that bad and I actually had fun! Mainly because it made me feel like I could do shooting star presses and moonsaults!
The Mouse Trap was next and that one’s super scary. Why? Well because the curves on top are super tight and if you’re a heavy guy like me you wonder if this thing is built for people like me. Well it was and the ride was fun and I didn’t hit my chins which great! The last time I rode a thing like that up at Kanobles (I hope I spelled that right) they had no padding at the front of the cart and I hit my chins repeatedly…
The almighty Hydra was next! As you can see I’m also a dentist in my spare time.
How can you not have a good time if Snoopy is waving you? Needles to say I waved back.
Funny story about Thunder Hawk. So we just got in the carts, and started to roll when my phone rang. So I picked it up as we went around the first corner, told the person who was calling that I’m on a roller coaster and that I’ll call him back and on we went on the first climb for the first drop (the one you can see in the picture). All of a sudden we stop in the middle of the climb. We are speculating that something is wrong and indeed, an employee comes running up the stairs.
What’s wrong you ask? Well she told me that she saw me on the phone and that that’s not allowed and I had to give her my cell phone… I apologized to the whole rollercoaster party and on we went on some wooden roller coaster fun.
In case you wondered I got my phone back after the ride. Lesson for you kids, don’t pick your phone up on a rollercoaster.
Who thinks that Crush would have loved Steel Force??
Possessed is a back and forth coaster where your legs are dangling similar to the Talon coaster. Lot’s of fun and the best part was when they paused for a second before you went back down!
For the last ride of the day we decided to take it easy and we went on the good old Farris wheel.
The big rollercoaster in the back is Steel Force and the high one is Possessed.
To make the day complete and be ready for the drive home I got myself a Wawa coffee! And since they had a new blend out I had to try it. Two thumbs up for the coffee blend and two thumbs up for lot of fun at Dorney Park! We rode all roller coasters in under 3 hours! Take that long lines on weekends!
With that being said, good night, I shall keep you updated via Twitter and maybe a picture sent from my phone right here to my blog!
And don’t forget about the August 1st free T-Shirt Contest!!
Tschüss,
Claudio

Great stuff, haven't been to Dorney in a few years. Nothing like the old wooden coasters.
I DON'T LIKE THAT LADY (and I use that term loosely)who took your phone. What did she think was going to happen? What did she think you were capable of? Blanks like her make my skin crawl!!
