Monday Night Movies

Maybe this title is a little misleading, I confess, but i picked it anyway and it’s fitting, just give me a minute to explain.

Last, or better this weekend I watched a lot of movies. And I’m recapping them for you guys tonight. Today is Monday, ergo the title Monday Night Movies!

You’re not convinced? Well just let it go because I’m not going to change the title. Also there’s not much wrestling going on to talk about form my side, so movies it is.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs 3-D

This was the first ever movie I saw in 3-D at the movies! Yeah I know it’s Ice Age 3 at the bus stop2009 and everybody has probably already seen a 3-D movie but I haven’t. And if you’re like me (3 days ago) and haven’t seen one, you should go see this one!

I liked the movie a lot and I even got over my glasses complex. See I wear glasses in normal life. For sports and in the summer I wear contacts so that I can wear sunglasses or play sports without the glasses being in the way.

Now since I wear glasses all the time I am obsessed with them being clean. Even more than normal when I’m at the movies. So I constantly check them against the light and the screen to see if they’re dirty or not. I did the same thing with the 3-D glasses who were a lot harder to clean due to the fact that they were fairly cheaply made.

But you wouldn’t have guessed from the price. The movie was like 4$ more expensive if you wanted to see it in 3-D. But it was well worth it. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a great movie for the whole family!

My favorite is Diego, as you might have guessed, mainly because he’s a feline. Plus he’s awesome! “My paws are burning baby, I gotta tip toe!” I Love it! Check it out:

It’s about 18 seconds in and it will make you love the movie and Diego! Needless to day every time I run somewhere or am faster than somebody I quote that quote!

Also I just watched that scene like 17 times!
The animation is amazing and I’m always stunned how far animation has come. The story of the little prehistoric squirrel chasing the nut gets a little tiring but they found great ways to keep it entertaining.

I give this movie four crosses!

Australia

The next movie I watched was Australia with Hugh Jackman and Nicole Cover of Kidman. Now after he hosted the Oscars Hugh is just super man. I mean he can do it all. He can sing, he can dance, he is jacked (his name is Jackman, so he kind of has to) he makes movie and is a nice guy (as far as I’m able to tell). Did I mention that all the women love him? Which should make all men hate him, but in my opinion you just can’t.

I’ve actually been to Australia so I was exited. I absolutely loved my time there and it was one of my highlights of my career. After seeing this movie I wish I could go back, spend more time there and see more of this great country.

The movie itself was very long, but entertaining so you never really realize how long the movie actually is. Jackman plays a man’s man so it makes it even harder to dislike him (for the handful of people who actually dislike him) and Nicole Kidman is great as well. Saying that I’m not a big fan of hers. Nothing personal, I just think there’s something weird about her.

The panorama shots are just breathtaking and it’s just beautiful  cinematography.

Three and a half crosses from me.

Bolt

The last movie I watched was Bolt by Walt Disney. For me I really enjoy Disney movies. And this one was no different.

Well it almost was. When it started it was… ok, spoiler warning! If you haven’t seen Bolt yet, maybe don’t read this. I’m not going to spoil any major parts but just a little of the beginning.

With that being said: I almost gave up on the movie after the first 3 minutes when it was “Cool little kid that is a super agent with cool gadget is teamed up with a superhero dog and they take out everybody”. I hate that concept. Remember “Spy Kids”? At least I think that’s what it was called, and I hated it from seeing the trailer.

If it’s Inspector Gadget it’s cool, other than that to 90% I dislike that Cover of concept. Maybe it’s because I’m not a 12 year old kid who wishes I was the protagonist in the movie (big word for me!).

Well the movie took a turn for the better and I really enjoyed it. A big reason might have been Mittens who was again a feline (yes i like cats).

One thing bothered me though. I couldn’t figure out who Macho Man was! I just looked it up on imdb.com and it says he played Thug… I don’t remember who Thug was and I don’t remember hearing Macho Man’s

Cover of Bolt

voice. I figured I’d hear it because it’s pretty recognizable… Maybe you can help me.

This movie is a great Sunday morning movie while eating cereal. And that’s exactly what I did. Three and a half crosses.

And that’s it from me today! I hope you had fun reading! I shall talk to you guys soon again!
