Cold shower...

Thanks to maintenance in the plumbing system I just had to take a cold shower...

Of course I noticed that there's only cold water when I was already in the shower and then I didn't wanna be a whimp and get out.

Plus cold showers are actually great! They wake you up!

It reminded me at the time when my and Hero were staying in Mexico for a month. We had our own little apartment which was nice. You can see a picture of the kitchen area on the left.

The only thing was that there was no hot water. Of course we'd ask our landlord, who was the sister of our trainer Jorge Rivera, every day and every day she'd tell us we'd get hot water the next day.

Needless to say we never ended up having hot water, so I showered cold every morning for a month straight!

But it jump started my day! It wakes up every inch of your body and you're just alert after wards! That's how I feel now! Charged and ready to go!

I might have to bring back cold showers in the morning! Especially now that it's getting warm outside! (cold showers in the winter suck)

Monday Night Myspace Memories

Versatility is the key! And since some people said I should alter my title, I did! I also altered the time I'm writing this.

To learn from my mistakes and not get my blog deleted like last week, I'm also writing this in Word. Well not really word, more Writer. Writer is the OpenOffice.org free alternative and it's awesome! So I figured it's worth a plug.

I wanted to thank all the people who responded to my last blog! I tried to respond to all the comments and I think I did a great job (patting myself on my back, like Barry Horrowitz used to do) and it's fun! So keep it up.

So lot's of stuff happened since last Monday. First and foremost, I'm now an official NRG-X Labs athlete! I'm sure you noticed the picture change here and I also juggled my top friends around! So go down there (get your mind out of the gutter, I ment scroll down to my top friends) and add them!

I'm extremely proud to represent the company,. As a serious athlete you need serious products. And that's what NRG-X Labs is all about, excellence in nutrition!

I've got the NRG-X Labs Overdose, Vital Core, Red Stinger, Maxx Pump, Joint MaxxFLX and the CEE3000. And I've already tested the Overdose, Vital Core and Joint MaxxFLX.

There's a blog about my first day using Overdose up on the NRG-X Labs Blog! I will of course continue using them and keep you guys updated! Of course I will mention the products and such in my blogs here, but for the more detailed reports you'll have to check out the NRG-X Labs Blog. This blog is still all about me, don't worry!

Which get's me to Spätzle! How, you ask? Just don't ask, my mind works in mysterious ways. I'm happy some of you actually tried the recipe! And I'm happy that it worked out for some of you!
Unfortunately I haven't updated the recipe section this week, but I'm sure I will in the upcoming weeks. I'm having lots of stuff coming up and I'm doing my best!

I'll give out my first supplement tip though. Get a good multi vitamin! This will help you get all, or most, your vitamins in a timely easy fashion. I myself am not a big fan of vegetables. But a multivitamin helps me getting my vitamins in nonetheless. Plus Hulk Hogan told us to take our vitamins, what else is there to say?

At the moment I'm using Vital Core from NRG-X Labs, and it's my favorite I've ever had. And no, I'm not just saying that because I'm Team NRG-X. I've had many over the years, but I always had to take additional stuff (like extra magnesium because I cramp easily), but not with this one. Also others have huge pills that are hard to choke down or you have to take 10+ tablets. So give Vital Core a shot, you won't be disappointed.

Gym motivation! This is a big thing for most of people starting going to the gym, because it's intimidating. Lots, or most of the people I know or talk to join a gym because they're not happy with their body. And to go to a gym, in gym clothes, being stared at by other people doesn't sound too appealing. I completely understand that. Also if you're new to gyms, you probably don't know how certain things work and don't want to look stupid. All valid concerns.

Here's a couple of tips that might help. Find a time you can go to the gym when there are not a lot of people there. I do that myself. I don't like people keeping me from my workout by talking to me. I like to get my stuff done at the gym and go back home. So I go during a time when I know there's not a lot of people there. This also guarantees that the equipment I want to use is free.

Wear clothes you're comfortable in. But please, do not show up to the gym in jeans and work boots! That will get you funky looks for sure!
If you have a friend to work out with, go work out with a friend! That will keep you motivated and you have somebody to go with! For so many people the gym is a social experience. If that works for you, rock it!

Pack your MP3 player full with feel good and happy music! Or something you like listening to! I always listen to upbeat songs at the gym. That keeps me pumped and motivated! You can't listen to sad songs while trying to get a good workout!

Oh wow! This is already one piece of a blog and we didn't even get to the meat yet!

Last weekend was ROH in Dayton, then in Chicago and finally CHIKARA in Philadelphia!

So the weekend started early for me. 4.45AM Friday morning to be exact! After preparing all my food and getting ready, I caught my flight at the Philly airport to Detroit. Of course I used the whole flight to listen to my favorite podcasts and sleep the whole way through! Which means I didn't hear any of the podcast but that was ok, since I had a 3 hour layover in Detroit. So I just listened to it again! For those wondering, it was the Swiss single charts!

Now since I had 3 hours to kill in Detroit I decided to get some coffee. For those who've been reading those blogs for a while will know that I grew quite fond of coffee...
And since the coffee I got was so good (Thanks again Coffee Beanery) I decided to make a blog update out of it... What followed was a blog update about pretty much every coffee I had over the weekend. If I didn't write a blog update, I used twitter to keep you guys updated!

And I must admit I like that idea! So here's my question to you, would you like to see more updates about coffees I find on my travels?

Coffee aside (well I was done with it) the travel went on to Dayton. I fell asleep right when I sat down on the plane (coffee to me is a thing of taste, not keeping me awake) and didn't notice that we had technical difficulties and were just standing at the gate for over an hour. Nor did I really care since that just ment more sleep for me.

Finally in Dayton I got picked up by probably the friendliest shuttle guy I've met this year and after storing my bag at the hotel decided to get my some food. Salad was the food of choice and it was so so.

Much better was the “Hot Head Burrito” salad that I got later that night! The ROH show was great! I pulled out a victory which made it even better and the main even is worth getting the DVD! (Strong vs. Lynn for those who don't know)

Saturday morning started great with some workout-ing followed by english muffins! I'm on the verge of coming up with a great recipe here so bear with me! The ride to Chicago flew by thanks to classic rock stations and a stop at Bob Evans.

Chicago proved themselves again as a great crowd that enjoys good wrestling. And that's exactly what they got! If you're living in Chicago, call yourself a wrestling fan and haven't seen a ROH show, you're not a wrestling fan!

Sunday morning then started pretty much like Friday. With getting up at 4 in the morning! Again I used the first leg of my trip to sleep the whole flight and on the layover who was only 1 ½ hours this time I enjoyed some breakfast food. Again I won't tell you what just now but it was great!

It was also really hard to not fall to the temptation of Starbucks who was right there when I came off the plane... But I wanted to safe that for when I got to Philly. As my reward so to speak.

My second flight was also used as a night-extender and I slept from take off to landing! But before I fell asleep I enjoyed the Swiss single charts from 1975. They made some good music back then, let me tell you!

First thing in Philly? You're right, finding a Starbucks, getting some coffee on and then heading to the arena for CHIKARA action!

Since Mitch Ryder is a coward I wrestled Shadow Phoenix. Lots of fun, check out the DVD! I enjoyed a pure wrestling match without having to watch my back at CHIKARA and so did the crowd!
I also picked up the CHIKARA King of Trios DVD! In case you haven't done so, you should do that at SMV in order to see the possibly greatest match ever with myself, Dave Taylor and Bryan Danielson vs. Mike Quackenbush, Skayde and Johnny Saint!

Afterwards was Denny's time. And I have to be careful here because this could easily triple the length of this blog...
First I must say that I only ordered a soup. Which took about 45 minutes to arrive. Along with 2 of the other 8 meals. So do the math here with me. 3 down, 5 more to go!

Keep in mind it's Sunday night at about 7.50 and the restaurant is not even ¼ full.

After another 15 minutes of wait, 3 more meals arrive. Of course the first batch all finished theirs a while ago.

Keep in mind it's Sunday night at about 7.50 and the restaurant is not even ¼ full.

And finally.... drum roll, the last 2 meals arrive with a total of about 28 minutes after the first ones! And those were not some crazy special orders! One of the last ones to arrive was a regular breakfast plate! I know it was the evening, but Denny's is proud of their around the clock breakfast food!

Now we spend 2 hours at Denny's with over an hour of waiting... The service was nice, the food was good, but the time was killing me! I just wanted to go home and sleep.
Don't get me wrong I've sat at restaurants much longer than 2 hours but that was like getting the food and eating it within the first hour and then sitting around talking for the rest...
Not sitting around waiting for 1.45!

Well I finally got home and fell asleep right away! What a great weekend!

Next weekend I'm going to Germany! And I'm so exited! This was really last minute since Paul London couldn't make it. Well guess what? Claudio Castagnoli can! And I'm so exited!

As something new I added many links in my blog! What do you guys think? Is it a handy feature? Or not really necessary?

Ok, it's getting late... Good night everybody, and I will read you soon again!

Salü
Claudio

Sony nwz-a818 8GB walkman

my new mp3 player and favorite travel companion! It just proves that sony makes awesome stuff! The sound quality ip amazing, the display bright and clear and the menu is handy, easy and quick with great features. As if that wouldn't be enough I love the headphone that came with it. They're tremendous, with the one side has a longer cord style that I love. The computer software is not as fancy or fast as others but it does it's job. But you don't even have to use it since you can just drag and drop music, videos and podcasts on to the player. And that works super quick. Thanks to the sony outlet I got it for an uncomparable price as well. Thank you sony for bringing the music back in my like after microsoft and it's zune made it so frustrating. Go sony.

Dunkin donuts coffee

all alone... Just how it should be, left alone. I got the carmel coffee with some milk. They explained to me how the machine automatically adds the sf syrup to the coffee. Well it either doesn't do a good job or the syrup is not tasteful. I probably should have selected a darker blend too... Claudio does not run on dunkin.

Speedway coffee

So, Yes Prof, the pictures was cut off. So I decided to take it down. Speedway, you don't deserve it!

I made the mistake of posting my review only half way through the coffee.

To quote a famous Austrian "beeeeg mistake".

I had to throw it out after half a cup, the first half was okay, the second became unbearable. The aftertaste was just too gross! It was really bad.

Gourmet Blend with Carmel Syrup... nothing gourmet about it.

Sorry Speedway, your coffee sucks.

I got this for supporting the troops!

NRG-X Labs

Hey hey hey,

As you might have noticed, like on my Myspace or my website, there are some NRG-X Labs logos to be found...

And there's a reason for that! I teamed up with NRG-X Labs! Yes, that's right! As a serious athlete, you need serious supplements.

I got my stack of NRG-X Labs products yesterday and will start testing and reviewing them along the way today!

I've got the Overdose, Vital Core, Red Stinger, Maxx Pump, Joint MaxxFLX and the CEE3000.

There's actually a long blog that I wrote about all this on nrgxlabs.blogspot.com so if you're interested, go check it out!

So on top of the usual great updates, you will probably find some supplement reviews and such on here in the future as well! I'm sure you guys don't mind!

In other Claudio related news, I am constantly working on my website and on my blog layout... what do you guys think of it? I'm a perfectionist and I also like to play with that kind of stuff.

Also I don't know if you guys caught that but my ZUNE stopped working... like it still works, I can still charge it, but I can't update it because no computer recognized it anymore... The helpline didn't work either, so I went out and got me a new one! I decided to get a small Sony NZW one! And it's great! I will talk about it later! Now it's time for me to get the day going!

What a day!

Edit: So I decided to write a little bit more! I'm in a writing mood today!

So as I mentioned above my ZUNE broke! But now with the new Sony I'm pretty happy so far! It will have it's first test on the road this weekend when I'm traveling for ROH and CHIKARA.

I'm going to be in Dayton on Friday, Chicago Ridge on Saturday and finally Philadelphia on Sunday! If you live in either of those cities, you should definitely come and check me out! Well, not so much check me out, check out the show!

Why I started to like about my new mp3 player (see how I switched back to that?) is that it's not too big. So I will have to keep my music catalog fresh! And I found a great way to do that! podcasts! Well you may think, that's been around for a while. And you're right, but the Swiss national radio (DRS.ch) offers podcasts with songs in it!
Like the Swiss single charts with the top ten and it features all the songs! For free! They also have a rock special, rap etc!

So now my question for you guys is, do you have any favorite podcasts? Which ones are worth listening to?

Alright! Now that's it for now!

Salü!

Monday Morning Myspace Memories

I'm so upset right now! So I was writing this great, long happy blog and then Firefox crashed! And of course Myspace didn't save my blog either! What's the matter with you guys??

Mozilla! Come out with an update that doesn't crash all the time before I'll go use the chrome, would you please?!

Any Myspace, where's the automatic draft save feature? You have it in your messages, what's the hold up!

Sooo bushleague! Do it like Blogger!

Well I guess I have to start over again... This will be shorter than the original one because I'm just trying to remember the points.

First I gave this blog a new title. What do you think about it? I ask people a lot what they think about certain things in my blog and I just wanted to thank you all for your responses! I read them and I think I'll answer to them soon as well. Just so that people see I actually read them! Because I do.

So let's go to stuff I talked about in my blog from last week.

For all of you who were interested in my Spätzle recipe, go to claudiocastagnoli.com and and click on "recipes" and you'll find it there! I started to post some recipes there and there will be more coming! Just give me time to do some trial and error! If you have something that you think is worth sharing, email me and I'll give it a shot!

Second about all the workout tip questions. I get asked for advice a lot and I always give the same answer. Find something that you like!

When you go to the gym, find some exercises you like and do them. Does that mean you should do arms and chest every time you go to the gym? No! But you'll notice that there are exercises you'll enjoy doing! Either because it's challenging, you see results or for whatever other reason. Keep doing those exercises and once you get bored, explore your options!

Going to the gym should be fun! And if you're doing exercises you like, it's more likely to be fun! This will also help you get into a rhythm. Getting into a rhythm will help getting you into a habit of going to the gym, which is great. because if you don't go, you broke that habit and you'll feel bad and work twice as hard!

That's something else I think is really important, getting in the habit of going to the gym!
But at no time it should feel like a chore! Going to the gym should be a treat for yourself and your body!

Now to last weekend! I figured Mondays are a good day to think back and reflect about the weekend. ROH was in Canada and so was I!

On Friday I drove an astonishing 421 miles straight! Yeah it's true! I finally stopped close to the Canadian border in order to get gas and I wanted some coffee. I didn't get my hopes up because the Mobile station I stopped didn't look that great. But! Never judge a book by it's cover! They had a coffee buffet! And it was great!

My house blend, 2% milk, sf (sugar free) hazelnut syrup combo was amazing and made the 2 hour wait at the border fly by!

The Montreal crowd was quite into the show, although there were not that many people there! What's wrong with you Montreal? Show up to ROH already!
To avoid crashing before my match I decided to walk to Tim Horton's over the street and get some more coffee!

Now the world speaks Visa, but not Tim Horton's! For those who don't know Tim Horton's is the Canadian equivalent of Starbucks! And they don't accept Visa! Big thumbs down for you Horton! Big thumbs down for McDonalds coffee too which tastes like toilet.

Saturday Toronto got a great show! Even though the show was in a Fairground and all that was missing was horses riding around the ring!
The back smelled like a cow barn! Actually I'm sure it was a barn! I think they usually have rodeos in there because that's what the arena looked like.

Nonetheless Toronto got a great show! The main event was stellar while my match brought wrestling back to ROH! Go check it out!

Speaking of, who saw ROH on HDNet? What an episode! Yes I was on and I won! Hey! Go me!

People who criticise the show, please note that the first 6 weeks were all taped in once and about 5 weeks ago! There can't be any week to week changes! But I'm sure you see how every body's working together to make this a great show! Which I think it is!

So if you can, check out the replays on HDNet!

Also ROH's Caged Collission PPV aired last Saturday! I hope many people watched it! It was voted the best PPV of the weekend by Bryan Alvarez and many others will concur to his opinion, I'm sure!
This PPV also has re runs, so you should check it out! Get your fill of Claudio Castagnoli and ROH!

Wow! Now this blog actually looks quite close to the one that got deleted and destroyed by the evil Mozilla and Myspace!
Do you see why I was so upset now? That's how far I was with my other blog!

Sunday was a great day to relax, and I enjoyed myself resting on the couch. Today is a great day and I'm looking forward to some freshly squeezed orange juice, my bagel and ham! That's for breakfast and what a good breakfast it is!

Thank you very much for reading, I hope you enjoyed it!

Until next week, right here on Myspace,
Claudio

PS: You'll notice this is not Myspace. That's because I just copy and pasted the Myspace blog in here.

Here you'll get more updates though and pictures! So keep checking it out!

Toronto

Hey Everybody!

I'm really motivated about this blog these days! Can you tell? I was down on it for a little but ever since I found out I can post pictures I'm all up on it again! Funny how it works!

Right now I'm sitting on a computer in an Econo Lodge in Toronto waiting for my peeps to come down and then we can hit the road! A.K.A get food! I'm always exited for food! Just this morning I had a banana and a bagel with peanut butter!

For those who know me, a banana is a great step for me! I'm not a big fan of fruits! I don't like the consistency of it. For example I like strawberry jam, strawberry yogurt, strawberry ice cream, but not strawberrys themselves! Same used to be true for bananas. But now I can actually eat them! So go me!

That paired with a whole wheat bagel with some peanut butter, maybe paired with some orange juice would be a great breakfast! Now I talked about orange juice I need to find me some!

Tonight ROH is in Markham (near Toronto) at the Markham Fairgrounds! You should come check it out!
If not, ROH is on HDNet again tonight with the great main event of me vs. Brent Albright! Check it out!

Now before this computer is going to kick me off (it has a timer on it) I better post this.

I'm out!

plus 2% milk and sugar free hazelnut syrup!

Thursday, April 16, 2009

approved!

Sunshine lollipop!

Well, yeah I think it's a great song! Who knows it?

The sun is shining for the first time in 3 days here in Philly, and that makes me happy!

Sunshine has a positive affect on people, at least that's my opinion! I'm all exited for grocery shopping! Grocery shopping is no fun in the rain. And that's coming from me, a person who loves grocery shopping!

Now I started my day with some freshly squeezed orange juice! If you are not in possession of an orange squeezer, you should get one! They're cheap, just get the juicer thinge! You know the one where you have to press half an orange against it! Something as little as that makes for a good start in a day!

That and yoga! I discovered Yoga a while back and despite being horrible at it, I stuck with it and now I love it! Most gyms have free classes, so if you can, go check one out!

This weekend I'm going to be in Canada! This will be my first time in Montreal! Yes, I know it's unbelievable!

There are multiple reasons I'm looking forward to it! I was always a big fan of Montreal. As a kid I played a lot of EA sports Hockey games, that must have been NHL '96 and such! And I always played with the Canadiens!

Then a couple of years, or almost a decade later when I moved to the US, the Montreal Canadiens had Mark Streit! One of the best Swiss players in the NHL ever! And of course I was rooting for them! Now despite trading him to the Islanders before the last season, I'm still a fan of the city of Montreal!

So I'm exited! Saturday will be ROH in Toronto! I had the pleasure to spend some afternoons (at various points) in Toronto and it's a great city!
Just don't go to the Gorilla Monsoon pub! It has nothing to do with Wrestling's Gorilla Monsoon, the food is bad and they didn't even have soda when I went! Well they had it on the menu, but were all out of it!

So if you live in either of those great cities, come and check out ROH!

Friday at the Centre Jean-Claude Malepart and Saturday at the Markham Fair!

I shall see you there!

Whoo

So I just found out that I can still post pictures from my phone!

Now thanks to blogger it's possible to send MMS messages with pictures directly to my blog. Thank you Blogger!

The only problem is it will have some stupid little cubes at the bottom. But who cares I can remove them after wards on my computer! So more pictures and updates are coming this way!

For quick text message style updates check out my at Twitter account.

So who checked out my new website? www.claudiocastagnoli.com received a little update! Instead of linking directly to my Myspace account, it's now it's own web presence!

I for one am really exited about it! I kept it simple on purpose (and because I don't know how to do it all complicated) because who wants a complicated website anyway!

There are more options coming soon, like workout stuff and a supplement section. But for now that's a start!

Feedback? Ideas? Let me know!

Monday Morning!

There's a German saying, "Morgenstund hat Gold im Mund"! Which means literally translated "Morning hour has Money in it's mouth".

So I figured I'd get up and do something!! Like writing this new blog!

Now there's quite a few things to talk about. First of all I'm on twitter! I finally signed up, and you can find me at twitter.com/ccastagnoli. It took me way too long! I need to stay updated on new technologies! Any Idea what's going to be the next facebook? Let me know!
Speaking of, I accept all friends there now too.

Now last Thursday and Friday were the second batch of ROH TV Tapings! And if you're a wrestlingf an you should be exited! After the first six week are just an introduction to everybody the next sixs weeks will be even better! Storylines are kicking in, the matches are great and the episodes have different formats! The production crew tried a few new stuff aswell so be exited for different backstage segments and such!

The 12th episode closes with a 4 way you do not wanna miss! You also do not wanna miss yours truly, my own matches which will be featured on episodes 9 and 12! But you don't have to wait that long! Next Saturday you'll be able to see me wrestling Brent Albright in the Main Event.

But that's not all! You'll be able to catch me again on weeks 7 for my thoughts on Brent as well as week 11! ROH on HDNet, check it out!

Now I'm sure you remember me putting over Spätzle in my last blog. Who would be interested in knowing how to make those? I really like cooking. Well I usually just cook stuff that's quick to fix and tasty. Mostly that's not even cooking, but putting stuff together. But it's mostly healthy (yeah I kinda have to do that) and tasteful (who doesn't like tasty food). So I was thinking about maybe trying a few more Swiss recepies and if there's an interest letting you guys know how it turns out!

And while we're on that subject. How many of you guys (that's you, person who's reading this) work out? Or go to the gym or something like that? Basically the question is who would be interested in some work out tips?
Now I'm not a personal trainer or certified or anything like that nor do I wanna be at the moment. I spend enough time at the gym as it is!

I'm just a dude who likes to work out and trying new stuff.

And I noticed that there's a lot of websites and such having way too many details! I don't wanna know which muscle fiber it works etc. I just wanna know if it gives results. Well that's me, I might be a little impatient sometimes but oh well!

Ok, it's about time to finish this! I'm hungry and need some food!

Later,
Claudio
